Basic CFD Concepts

Volupe provides instructor led training and mentoring for the products in the Simcenter Portfolio. The trainings are offered to whomever is interested in learning and deepening their knowledge in for example Simcenter STAR-CCM+.

The trainings can be found here [Training – VOLUPE Software]. Volupe provides an introductory training in Simcenter STAR-CCM+, which is heavily focused on the use of the software, yet it also covers some basic introduction to CFD.

While a background in fluid dynamics, CFD or numerical simulation is recommended to have before starting using the products in the Simcenter portfolio, it is not always the case. Therefore, we have gathered some videos about basic fluid dynamics and CFD. In all honesty, the material is good enough so that any user, new as well as experienced, will learn something.

Introduction to Fluid Dynamics

Below we have gathered several professional videos from the Youtube channel “The efficient engineer”. The videos are very informative and pedagogic and give a good insight into basic fluid dynamics and some CFD. The material covers some of the basic concepts of the transport phenomena related to mass and momentum, laminar and turbulent flow, aerodynamic drag and lift etc.

Introduction to CFD

While the videos in the itroduction to fluid dynamics section are focused on describing physical phenomena and fluid dynamics, the videos in this section are more focused on CFD specifically.
