y+ Compute Grid Spacing online
When meshing a geometry for CFD analysis, this handy Y+ calculator computes the height of the first mesh cell off the wall, required to achieve a desired y+ using flat-plate boundary layer theory. The math behind the calculations is obtained from the 5th edition of Frank M. White “Fluid mechanics”. Frank M. White was an American engineer and Professor Emeritus of Mechanical and Ocean Engineering at the University of Rhode Island.
